Agaricia granulata was named by Muenster (1829). It is a 3D body fossil. It is the type species of Actinarea.
It was recombined as Microsolena granulata by Milne-Edwards and Haime (1860); it was recombined as Actinaraea granulata by d'Orbigny (1850), Beauvais (1988).
