Taxonomy
Tuscahomys was named by Dawson and Beard (2007) [Currently includes four species: T. medius, T. minor, T. major, and T. ctenodactylops (formerly Reithroparamys ctenodactylops)]. Its type is Tuscahomys medius. It was considered unknown by Dawson and Beard (2007).
It was assigned to Cylindrodontidae by Dawson and Beard (2007), Rose et al. (2012) and Strait et al. (2016).
