Taxonomy
Hypselentoma ornata was named by Batten (1989). Its type specimen is USNM 431586 and is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is USNM707e, Sullivan Peak, Glass Mountains, which is in a Roadian slope limestone in the Road Canyon Formation of Texas.
