Viarhynchiinae was named by Williams et al. (2002) [Viarhynchiinae Mancenido and Owen, in Williams et al. (2002)]. It is not extant. Its type is Viarhynchia.

It was assigned to Tetrarhynchiidae by Williams et al. (2002).
