Taxonomy
Microsolena piriformis was named by Beauvais (1972). It is not extant. Its type specimen is MNHN-F-B47541 (Holotype). Its type locality is Saint-Gaultier, Creuse Valley, which is in a Bathonian perireef or subreef limestone in France.
