Taxonomy
Dvinosauria was named by Warren (1998) [Definition from Schoch (2013): The most inclusive clade containing Trimerorhachis insignis but not Dissorophus multicinctus, Eryops megacephalus and Mastodonsaurus giganteus.]. It is not extant. It was considered monophyletic by Yates and Warren (2000) and Schoch (2013).
It was assigned to Limnarchia by Yates and Warren (2000); to Temnospondyli by Warren (1998) and Damiani and Rubidge (2003); and to Rhachitomi by Schoch (2013), Schoch and Milner (2014) and Schoch and Voigt (2019).
