Taxonomy
Rhabdophylliopsis thomkai was named by Eliasova (1991). Its type locality is Benatina, which is in a Paleocene marine horizon in the Proc Conglomerate Formation of Slovakia.

It was recombined as Phacellocoenia thomkai by Baron-Szabo (2008).
