Glaessneropsoidea was named by Patrulius (1959). It is not extant. Its type is Glaessneropsis.

It was assigned to Brachyura by Schweitzer and Feldmann (2009); and to Dromiacea by Schweitzer et al. (2010), Karasawa et al. (2011), Schweitzer et al. (2012).
