Pyknotylacanthus spathianus
Taxonomy
Pyknotylacanthus spathianus was named by Mutter and Rieber (2005). Its type specimen is PIMUZ A/I 3730, a limb element (Fin spine), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Bear Lake, which is in a Spathian marine shale in the Thaynes Formation of Idaho. It is the type species of Pyknotylacanthus.
