Phlegethontia linearis
Taxonomy
Phlegethontia linearis was named by Cope (1871). Its type specimen is AMNH 6966, a partial skeleton, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Linton, which is in a Westphalian D mire/swamp coal in Ohio. It is the type species of Phlegethontia.
It was synonymized subjectively with Phlegethontia longissima by McGinnis (1967).
