Taxonomy
Marocella australica was named by Parkhaev (2001) [Parkhaev in Gravestock et al. 2001]. Its type specimen is PIN 4664/586, a shell, and it is a mold. Its type locality is HG03, Horse Gully, Stansbury Basin, Yorke Peninsula, which is in a Botomian carbonate packstone in the Parara Limestone Formation of Australia.
