Anosteira mongoliensis
Taxonomy
Anosteira mongoliensis was named by Gilmore (1931). Its type specimen is AMNH 6666, a partial shell (articulated hyoplastron, hypoplastron and xiphiplastron, attached to portions of the carapace rim of both sides), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Chimney Butte, North Mesa, which is in an Eocene terrestrial horizon in the Ulan Shireh Formation of Mongolia.
