Taxonomy
Protomichelinia lepingensis was named by Zhu (1982). Its type specimen is GI-638 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Leping County, Qixia Formation, which is in a Kungurian open shallow subtidal limestone in the Qixia Formation of China.
