Taxonomy
Palaeontinopsis liaoxiensis was named by Hong (1986). Its type specimen is 84L02, a forewing (Forewing), and it is an impression. Its type locality is Western Liaoning, which is in a Callovian/Oxfordian lacustrine - large siliciclastic in the Haifanggou Formation of China.
