Taxonomy
Hypselentoma welleri was named by Thomas (1940). Its type specimen is RSM 1939.3.4, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Orchard Farm, Near Giffnock, which is in an Arnsbergian marine limestone in the Upper Limestone Formation of the United Kingdom.
