K. -Q. Gao and L. -H. Hou 1995 | Priscagamines are distinguished from other agamids by the combination of the following character states: dermal roof elements of skull ornamented with small, rounded tubercles; anterior pterygoid process long and meeting vomer; laterla coronoid process plate-like; both anterior and posterior mylohyoid foramina present. | |
V. R. Alifanov 1996 | Maxillae vertically adjoin one another behind premaxillae. Contact between frontal and maxillae lost. Jugals and squamosals always adjoin each other. Vomers large. Angular process of dentary not expressed. Ventrally subdental crest forms descending process, located lingual to upper edge of splenial. Coronoid has large labial process. Finger-shaped medioarticular process always well developed. Heterodont tooth system differentiated according to agamid type, in three series: canine-like, embryonic, and additional. Teeth of two last series labiolingually flattened, subtriangular-shaped, conic with wide bases. |
