Taxonomy
Orthophlebia longicauda was named by Willmann and Novokshonov (1998). Its type specimen is PIN 2997/2801, an exoskeleton, and it is a compression fossil.

It was recombined as Orthophlebia (Dolichophlebia) longicauda by Hong and Zhang (2007).
