Taxonomy
Oligophryne britannica was named by Ansorge and Krzemiński (1994). Its type specimen is Coll Ansorge fly no 1, an exoskeleton (complete fly), and it is an impression. Its type locality is Stonebarrow Hill, which is in a Sinemurian marine mudstone/siderite in the Charmouth Mudstone Formation of the United Kingdom.
