Deacybele was named by Whittington (1965). It is not extant. Its type is Calymene arenosa.
It was assigned to Cybelinae by Evitt and Tripp (1977), Owen and Bruton (1980) and Owen (1981); to Encrinuridae by Jell and Adrain (2002); and to Phacopida by Sepkoski (2002).
