Taxonomy
Phaenops perekischkulensis was named by Alexeev (1996). Its type specimen is PIN 2624/4, an exoskeleton, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Perekishkyul' (PIN collection 2624), which is in a Chattian marine horizon in the Maikop Formation of Azerbaijan.
