Taxonomy
Leptopharsa evsyunini was named by Golub and Popov (2000). Its type specimen is AMNH DR-10-44, an exoskeleton, and it is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Dominican amber, El Valle locality (AMNH collection), which is in a Burdigalian/Langhian terrestrial amber in the Yanigua Formation of the Dominican Republic.
