Taxonomy
Pinnachorista indistincta was named by Novokshonov (1994). Its type specimen is PIN 4305/421, a forewing, and it is an impression. Its type locality is Bor-Tologoi (PIN collection 4305), which is in a Wuchiapingian terrestrial siliciclastic in the Tsankhin Formation of Mongolia.
