Taxonomy
Altajopanorpa karaungirica was named by Novokshonov (1994). Its type specimen is PIN 2781/55, a forewing, and it is an impression. Its type locality is Karaungir-II (PIN collection 2781), which is in a Changhsingian lacustrine mudstone in the Akkolka Formation of Kazakhstan.
