Taxonomy

Arthropleuridae was named by Scudder (1885).

It was assigned to Gigantopleurida by Guthörl (1934); and to Arthropleurida by Štamberg and Zajíc (2008), Pillola and Zoboli (2021).

Synonyms

Troxites was named by Goldenberg (1854).

Troxites germari was named by Goldenberg (1854). It is an impression. Its type locality is Sulzbach railway cut, which is in a Westphalian C terrestrial horizon in the Lower Saarbrucker layer Formation of Germany.

Tiphoscorpionidae was named by Kjellesvig-Waering (1986).

It was synonymized subjectively with Arthropleuridae by Dunlop et al. (2013).
