Differing from Chengyuchelys in having a clear ornamentation, consisting of ridges and tubercles, on the shell surface, a pair of mesoplastra lying on the anterior part of the bridge, a nearly straight posterior sulcus of the intergulars not cutting onto the short diamond-shaped entoplastron, and a loose plastron–carapace attachment.
