Palmocarpon belensis was named by Berry (1929). It is considered to be a form taxon. It is a 3D fossil preserving soft parts. Its type locality is Belen, Punta PariƱas, which is in a Miocene/Oligocene terrestrial horizon in Peru.

E. W. Berry 1929Palm nut, sub-spherical in form, widest medianly, narrowing about equally distad and proximad, pointed distad, rounded proximal. Somewhat compressed, as shown in the equatorial profile. Length 3 centimeters: maximum diameter 2.5 centimeters: minimum diameter 1.9 centimeters. The surface has a crustaceous appearance, and is smooth except for faint tubercles and faint radiating ribs around the apex.
