Taxonomy
Trichomyia glomerosa was named by Quate (1963). Its type specimen is UCMP 12816, an exoskeleton, and it is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is UCMP B-5100, Las Cruces landslide, Simojovel region, which is in a Miocene terrestrial amber in Mexico.
