Taxonomy
Leptorhynchos was named by Longrich et al. (2013). Its type is Ornithomimus elegans.
It was assigned to Caenagnathinae by Longrich et al. (2013), Longrich et al. (2013); to Elmisaurinae by Funston et al. (2016); and to Caenagnathidae by Lamanna et al. (2014), Lü et al. (2015), Tsuihiji et al. (2015), Funston and Currie (2016), Tsuihiji et al. (2017).
