Taxonomy
Thylamys colombianus was named by Goin (1997). Its type specimen is IGM 251010, a tooth (an isolated right m?2), and it is a 3D body fossil.

F. J. Goin 1997Similar in size to the living Thylamys elegans; differs from other species of the genus in its comparatively larger and slightly longer talonids, entoconids laterally compressed, and paraconids mesially oriented in the trigonid.
