Taxonomy
Sphyraenodus hastatus was named by Bohm (1926). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Langental, NE of Bogenfels, which is in a Priabonian shallow subtidal siltstone/sandstone in the Langental Beds Formation of Namibia.
