Taxonomy
Hemithrips femoralis was named by Bagnall (1923). It is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Baltic amber, Konigsberg collection, which is in a Priabonian terrestrial amber in the Russian Federation. It is the type species of Hemithrips.
