Taxonomy
Tegula (Chlorostoma) chilena was named by Nielsen et al. (2004). Its type specimen is SGO.PI.4967, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Matanzas (MAP), which is in a Miocene marine siltstone in the Navidad Formation of Chile.
