Taxonomy
Carcharhinus perseus was named by Adnet et al. (2007). Its type specimen is UMC-DBC-S9, a tooth, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Kumbi, which is in an Oligocene marine horizon in the Chitarwata Formation of Pakistan.
