Taxonomy
Michelinia nelsoni was named by Wilson (1982). Its type specimen is UCMP 37266 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is UCMP D-852, Hirz Mountain, which is in an Asselian marine limestone/limestone in the McCloud Formation of California.
