Cardiatherium patagonicum
Taxonomy
Cardiatherium patagonicum was named by Vucetich et al. (2005). Its type specimen is MPEF−PV 740/1, a mandible (right mandibular fragment with m1–m2), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Rincon Chico (Puerto Madryn Formation) Peninsula Valdes, which is in a Tortonian coastal sandstone/shale in the Puerto Madryn Formation of Argentina.
