Taxonomy
Rhynchospirina was named by Schuchert and LeVene (1929) [Sepkoski's age data: S Ldov D Fame Sepkoski's reference number: 2,1066,1239]. It is the type genus of Rhynchospirinidae.

It was assigned to Rhynchospirinidae by Williams et al. (2002); and to Spiriferida by Sepkoski (2002).
