Taxonomy
Microvelia grimaldii was named by Andersen (2001). Its type specimen is AMNH DR-14-1202, an exoskeleton, and it is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Dominican amber (AMNH coll), which is in a Burdigalian/Langhian terrestrial amber in the Dominican Republic.
