Taxonomy
Cicones oblongopunctata was named by Wickham (1913). It is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Wilson Ranch, Florissant, which is in a Chadronian lacustrine - large horizon in the Florissant Formation of Colorado.

It was recombined as Eucicones oblongopunctata by Wickham (1920).
