Taxonomy
Pseudopilolabus othnius was named by Poinar et al. (2015). Its type specimen is Poinar CW-161, an exoskeleton, and it is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Dominican amber (Poinar coll), which is in a Burdigalian/Langhian terrestrial amber in the Dominican Republic.
