Taxonomy
Dinocyon aurelianensis was named by Frick (1926). Its type specimen is Mus. d'Hist. Nat., Paris, No. 228, a set of teeth (m1 and m2, right, with mandibular and canine fragments), and it is a 3D body fossil.
