Zonarina abbessensis
Taxonomy
Plaziatia abessensis was named by Dolin and Lozouet (2004). Its type specimen is MNHN-IM-2000-3753, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Abesse, Saint-Paul-les-Dax, which is in a Chattian perireef or subreef limestone in the Falun d'Escornebeou et Sainte Paul-les-Dax Formation of France.
It was recombined as Zonarina abbessensis by Fehse (2007).

L. Dolin and P. Lozouet 2004 | La coquille de petite taille, mince, aux marges a peine epaissies, a une curieuse forme parallelipipedique, a peine retrecie a ses extremites. La spire pen saillante est ennoyee. l:ouverture est rectiligne. Le canal siphonal profond est court, formant un pontet tres faiblement marque, legerement rehausse par rapport a la sole ventrale calleuse, aplanie. Le pli terminal plongeant est double transversalement d'un court denticule convergeant; il est prolonge par la lame interne a 90", courte, lanceolee a son extremite. La fossula, profonde et regulierement excavee, porte a son bord 5 denticules la parcourant irregulierement. La levre interne droite porte 16 gros denticules, regulierement espaces, limites par 1' angulation. Le canal exhalant profond, axe, est court, le pseudo-pontet qu'il forme etant fortement calleux. La levre externe sinueuse, crispee en son quart anterieur, parte 23 denticules epais et courts. |
