Taxonomy
Chapattimys ibrahimshahi was named by Hussain et al. (1978). Its type locality is H-GSP 144, which is in a Lutetian marine conglomerate in the Kuldana Formation of Pakistan.
It was recombined as Birbalomys ibrahimshahi by Kumar et al. (1997).
