Ovula baluchistanensis was named by Noetling (1897). It is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Bernaya (Protocypraea) baluchistanensis by Schilder (1927); it was recombined as Gisortia baluchistanensis by Vredenburg (1927); it was recombined as Bernaya (Bernaya) baluchistanensis by Schilder (1941), Groves (1994).
