Taxonomy
Abruzzoichthys erminioi was named by Carnevale (2002). Its type specimen is MGPA TOR002, a skeleton, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Madonna delle Rose, which is in a Miocene marine horizon in Italy.
