Taxonomy
Chelydra decheni was named by Meyer (1852). Its type specimen is IPB Ro4016, a skeleton, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Rott, which is in a MP 30 lacustrine - small shale in Germany.
It was recombined as Chelydropsis decheni by Joyce (2016); it was recombined as Chelydrasia decheni by Hutchison (2008), Karl (2018).
