Taxonomy
Eochelone brabantica was named by Dollo (1903). Its type specimen is IRSNB R1, a partial skeleton, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Saint-Remy-Geest, which is in a Lutetian terrestrial horizon in Belgium.
