Platylichas glenos was named by Whittington (1962). Its type specimen is BU 796, an exoskeleton, and it is a mold.
It was recombined as Autoloxolichas glenos by Thomas and Holloway (1988); it was recombined as Allolichas glenos by Holloway and Thomas (2002).
