Taxonomy

Olenellus roddyi was named by Resser and Howell (1938). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is USNM Loc. 12w. Fruitville, 3 miles north of Lancaster, which is in a Dyeran marine shale in the Kinzers Formation of Pennsylvania.

Olenellus similaris was named by Resser and Howell (1938). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is USNM locality 8x, 2 miles north of york, which is in a Dyeran marine shale in the Kinzers Formation of Pennsylvania.

It was synonymized subjectively with Olenellus roddyi by Lieberman (1999).
Olenellus jonasae was named by Resser and Howell (1938). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is USNM locality 22L, half mile south of East Petersburg, which is in a Dyeran marine shale in the Kinzers Formation of Pennsylvania.

It was synonymized subjectively with Olenellus roddyi by Lieberman (1999).
Olenellus nodosus was named by Resser and Howell (1938). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is USNM locality 12x, Getz Quarry, which is in a Dyeran marine shale in the Kinzers Formation of Pennsylvania.
