Robertia was named by Boonstra (1948). It is not extant. Its type is Robertia broomiana.

It was assigned to Endothiodontidae by Boonstra (1969); to Robertiinae by King (1988); to Robertiidae by Carroll (1988); and to Pylaecephalidae by Kammerer and Angielczyk (2009).
