Hesperornithoides miessleri
Taxonomy
Hesperornithoides miessleri was named by Hartman et al. (2019). Its type specimen is WYDICE-DML-001, a skeleton (A single, partially articulated skeleton consisting of most of an articulated skull and mandibles missing the anteriormost portions, hyoids, five cervical verte), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Jimbo Quarry (2B) (PROXY), which is in a Kimmeridgian/Tithonian lacustrine mudstone in the Morrison Formation of Wyoming. It is the type species of Hesperornithoides.
